MBA for Entrepreneurs (and Corporate Intrapreneur)

It used to be that business studies was just that, business studies. Today, there are institutions of higher learning specialising in different types of business studies.

The Entrepreneuriship Institute of Australia (EIA) in Adelaide, South Australia is one degree-conferring institution dedicated to the development of entrepreneurs and corporate intrapreneurs.

The EIA offers the Entrepreneurial MBA, the Bachelor of Business Adminisration (BBA) in Entrepreneurial Management, training programmes on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial management.

The good news is that the EIA Entrepreneurial MBA and BBA would be launched in Malaysia soon - the MBA this month and the BBA in December. This was made possible with the collaboration of EIA with Excel Open Learning and Excel College of Training & Development Sdn Bhd.

This is in line with the Government's call for more entrepreneurs. The Government announced a RM600 million allocation for "franchisepreneurs" recently.

"Entrepreneurial management programmes are very popular in western countries as they help foster creataive thinking," said the Entrepreneurial MBA programme director in Malaysia Jimmy Peh.

"The Entrepreneurial MBA is a futuristic programme designed to develop creativity, innovative and futuristic thinking in managers. We need executives and managers to not only think creatively but entrepreneurially as well. They must be able to think outside the box," said Peh.

The Entrepreneurial MBA is specially designed for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, and adult learners who want to be well prepared as entrepreneurs or corporate intrapreneurs. - L.E. Teoh
